Wikipedia - Liga Leumit (basketball)

Liga Leumit (Hebrew: ליגה לאומית, lit. National League) is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Premier League.

**Israël - Nationale Liga**

De Israëlische Nationale Liga is de hoogste professionele basketbalcompetitie in Israël. Opgericht in 1954, wordt de competitie betwist door 12 teams die strijden om het Israëlische landskampioenschap.

De teams spelen een reguliere competitie van 33 wedstrijden, gevolgd door play-offs voor de beste vier teams. De winnaar van de play-offs wordt gekroond tot Israëlisch kampioen en verdient een plaats in de kwalificatiewedstrijden voor de EuroLeague.

Enkele van de meest succesvolle teams in de Israëlische Nationale Liga zijn Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Jerusalem en Maccabi Haifa. Deze teams hebben regelmatig het landskampioenschap gewonnen en hebben Israël op het internationale toneel vertegenwoordigd.

De Israëlische Nationale Liga staat bekend om zijn hoog niveau van spel en competitieve wedstrijden. Het is een belangrijke competitie in het Europese basketbal en biedt een platform voor getalenteerde Israëlische spelers om zich te ontwikkelen en te schitteren.
