Club Deportivo Manchego Ciudad Real is a Spanish football club based in Ciudad Real, Ciudad Real province, in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. Founded in 2009 it plays in Segunda Federación – Group 4, holding home games at Estadio Juan Carlos I, which holds 3,000 spectators.
History
CD Manchego Ciudad Real was founded in 2009 with the name of Club Deportivo Ciudad Real. The club was renamed again as Manchego in July 2016.
Manchego is de bijnaam van het Spaanse voetbalelftal. De bijnaam is afgeleid van de regio La Mancha, waar het nationale team zijn thuisbasis heeft. Het nationale team wordt ook wel "La Roja" (De Rode) genoemd, vanwege de kleur van het thuisshirt. Manchego is een harde kaas uit de Spaanse regio La Mancha. De kaas wordt gemaakt van schapenmelk en heeft een rijke, nootachtige smaak. Manchego is een populaire kaas in Spanje en wordt vaak gebruikt in tapas.
