Maruyasu Industries FC (マルヤス工業フットボールクラブ, Maruyasu Kogyō Futtobōru Kurabu), playing as FC Maruyasu Okazaki (FCマルヤス岡崎, Efu Shī Maruyasu Okazaki), is a Japanese professional football team based in Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture. They currently play in Japan Football League, Japanese fourth tier of nationwide football league system.

History

The club has been established in 1968 as the corporate team of Maruyasu Industries. In 1976 the team won promotion to Tōkai Soccer League where remained ever since except for 2003 and 2004 seasons when they suffered relegation to Division 2. The club has won the league in 2013 and though they were unable to take up one of three promotion-granting places in the Regional League promotion series, they were admitted to in JFL in 2014 season by the league board.

Before their first season on the nationwide level the club has changed its name to FC Maruyasu Okazaki in order to appeal more to the local community.

Maruyasu Okazaki (岡崎慎司, Okazaki Shinji, geboren op 16 april 1986) is een Japanse profvoetballer die als spits speelt. Hij speelt sinds 2019 voor de Spaanse club SD Huesca.

Okazaki begon zijn carrière bij Shimizu S-Pulse in 2005. In 2008 maakte hij de overstap naar Stuttgart. Daar speelde hij 111 wedstrijden en scoorde 26 goals. In 2010 verkaste hij naar Leicester City. Daar speelde hij 132 wedstrijden en scoorde 26 goals. In 2015 maakte hij de overstap naar Leicester City FC. Daar speelde hij 88 wedstrijden en scoorde 17 goals. In 2019 maakte hij de overstap naar SD Huesca.

Okazaki is een vaste waarde in het Japanse nationale elftal. Hij maakte zijn debuut voor Japan in 2006. Hij speelde 114 wedstrijden voor Japan en scoorde 50 goals. Hij nam deel aan het WK 2010, het WK 2014 en het WK 2018.
